After a long work week, we don't just want to destress, we NEED to destress! Altough we want to relax, we don't always know how. Here are a few ideas to get you going.

1. Take a walk. Don't underestimate the benefits of a brisk (or leisurely) walk out of doors. Fresh air and exercise can do wonders for the mind and body.

2. Have any relaxing hobbies? Music, reading, crafts - these can be relaxing and calming. Tune out the world and let your senses take over.

3. Practice breathing/mindfulness. Taking the time to focus on your breathing and focus on your surroundings can be a great tool to destress and live in the moment.

4. Exercise. Get those endorphins going! This is not just a myth made up by fitness fanatics, but exercise can boost your feel good hormones and make you feel less stressed.

5. Disconnect from Social Media and connect with real friends. Social Media is great for busy people to stay in touch without much of an effort. But to really feel good about friendships - make time to talk to people in person. Going out with friends and connecting with real people does much more for your mood than a text or FaceBook comment.

6. Treat yourself to something special. Whether it's a food or something new to wear, giving ourselves a treat can make us feel great. Go on - you deserve it!

7. Unplug. So hard, right? Go out and and leave your phone at home. We are such slaves to our devices - we don't even realize sometimes they control us and not the other way around!

8. Leave your worries at work. Taking home your work stress isn't going to help alleviate your worries - so leave them at work! Make your home time home time, and leave your worries at the office.
